HOW IT WORKS
Shop, collect stamps, and submit your passport before 5:00 p.m. PT on December 18, 2024. The lucky winner will be drawn on December 20, 2024, and will receive a $250 gift certificate to use at any participating Chemainus business. Official Contest Rules for the Holiday Passport Program
These rules govern participation in the Holiday Passport Program (the "Contest") offered by the Chemainus B.C. Business Improvement Association ("Chemainus BIA"). By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules.
1. Eligibility
The Contest is open to legal residents of British Columbia who are 19 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of the Chemainus BIA, affiliated companies, and their immediate family members (parents, siblings, children, and spouses) are not eligible to enter.
2. Contest Period
The Contest begins on November 16, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) and ends on December 18, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PT (the "Contest Period"). Entries received outside the Contest Period will be void.
3. How to Participate
Eligible participants can collect stamps on a Holiday Passport (the “Passport”) as follows:

In-Person Purchase: Participants receive one (1) stamp on their Passport for each purchase of $10 or more (before taxes, after discounts) at any participating business during the Contest Period. Each participant may collect a maximum of one (1) stamp per qualifying transaction. No rain checks or make-up stamps will be issued if a stamp was not received at the time of purchase.

No Purchase Necessary: Participants may obtain a stamp without a purchase by mailing a handwritten request to:

Each request must include the participant's full name, mailing address, phone number, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Requests are limited to one (1) per person per day and must be received during the Contest Period. Stamps will be mailed back within 72 hours of receipt in-hand. Chemainus BIA is not responsible for any delays in delivery.

Stamping Process:

Each Passport must contain five (5) stamps from participating businesses to be eligible for entry.

Each Passport can only be submitted once.

4. Submission of Passport
Once a Passport has five (5) stamps, participants must submit the Passport to a designated drop-off location by 5:00 p.m. PT on December 18, 2024. Submissions after this deadline will be void.
5. Prize
One (1) grand prize of $250, in the form of a gift certificate redeemable at any participating business in the Chemainus BIA network. This prize may be split between multiple Chemainus BIA businesses as requested by the winner.

The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and has no cash value.

The winner is responsible for any taxes, fees, or additional costs associated with the prize.

To claim the prize, the selected participant must correctly answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question.

Chemainus BIA reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equal or greater value if necessary.
6. Draw Date and Winner Selection
A random draw will be conducted on December 20, 2024, by the Chemainus BIA or via an independent contest management service. The selected participant will be notified within 48 hours by telephone or email.

The selected participant must respond within five (5) business days of notification and correctly answer a skill-testing question. Failure to respond within this period or answer the question will result in forfeiture of the prize, and an alternate winner will be drawn.

Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
7. Additional Requirements
The selected participant may be required to provide proof of age and identity to confirm eligibility. The participant may also be required to complete and sign a declaration of eligibility and release of liability before the prize is awarded.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Chemainus BIA and its agents are not responsible for any lost, late, stolen, incomplete, or misdirected Passports, or for technical failures that may affect entry submissions.
9. Right to Cancel or Modify
Chemainus BIA reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if technical failures, fraud, or other factors impair its integrity.
10. Privacy
By participating, entrants consent to the collection, use, and sharing of personal information solely for administering this Contest, in accordance with the Chemainus BIA’s privacy policy.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
This Contest is governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada and is void where prohibited by law. Any disputes will be resolved individually, without resort to class action, in a British Columbia court. Participants waive all rights to punitive damages.
